Old Business:
·       Tri-Health report – report enclosed in commission packet; Stephanie, the new manager, was at the last meeting and seemed to be very enthusiastic. She has already implemented many new ideas for the fitness center.
·       Budget Sub-committee – (Gus Janszen, Doug Lohmeier, and David Nichols) 2008 is 10% higher than the 2007 budget because of the prospective playground renovation. Regarding the playground, a focus group will be meeting Tuesday, October 30th at 6:30pm in the Adult Gathering Room. In addition, the Flex Room will be renovated next year (can a dimmer switch be added to the lights when the renovation project is done.)

Director’s Report:
·       Soccer uniforms will be replaced next year. Commission reviewed the options on uniforms.
·       November’s commission meeting will be on Thursday, November 15th at 7:30am
·       Halloween Fest went very well; both the weather and the turn-out were terrific. Commission members commented on how great is was to see the number of college students who returned to Evendale to work the event.

Phi Lambda Pi Report:
·       Members volunteered at the Mother Son Night of Fun, Ladies Fashion Show & Tea; the upcoming volunteer project is the annual Rake n’ Run project.
·       The current fundraiser is selling Entertainment Books; candle sales will begin soon. The annual Election Day bake sale will take place on Tuesday, November 6th.
·       The Fresh Meat II competition recently concluded. Teammates Brady Eagan and Justin Hackett won first place. This year’s eighth grade class is large and very involved.

Open Discussion:
·       Gorman Report – the farm’s steer, who has been staying at Ohio State University, recently passed away. He was 10 years old.
·       Trails Report - there is a trail meeting following this commission meeting. All commission members are invited to attend.  Gorman Farm recently had the boy scouts help cut new trails.
·       Youth soccer season is wrapping up. Two teams (U-10 Boys & U-12 Girls) are going to post-season tournament. The U-5 teams recently had a soccer fest day as well as the U-6 teams because these teams were unable to attend the post-season tournament.
·       Adult “pick-up” soccer games continue, still with a strong showing. Only one injury has occurred.
·       Tennis court – the net issue raised in last month’s meeting, was addressed within ½ hour of the conclusion of the meeting.
·       Programming – request was made to develop a program, or expand current programs, to be more inclusive and non-denominational. Some programs seem to focus on or around Christian dates or events.

Motion to adjourn made by Wayne Mosley at 8:58am; seconded by Gus Janszen. Motion approved.
